Last week, I found an article about a popular Japanese TV program in a Japanese newspaper. In the program, a person has to live with 10,000 yen (which is nearly equal to 100 dollars) for a month. To make a life with 100 dollars, he has to cook with cheap ingredients. For example, he sometimes goes to a mountain to pick up some vegetables for free. (Strictly speaking, some people may think the gas cost to go there should be included in the 100 dollars, but it is excluded here.) Another example is cooking hamburgers not with beef but with pasted beans.
According to the article, this program will be exported from Japan to the U.S. next year. I guess this is because it will take some months to dub the program into English. Since we are students at Kennedy School, we may be busy with studying. But, I recommend you to watch the program in your free time once.
